The Test d'Evaluation de Français (TEF) is an international reference tool which measures your level of knowledge and skills in French.

Test d'Evaluation de Français
This test was conceived and is administered by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris (CCIP). The TEF is a language placement test for French non-native speakers who wish to obtain a simple, effective and precise evaluation of their general language skills for professional or personal reasons. The certificate of achievement is valid for one year. Renowned in the entire world, the certificate can be useful while looking for a job, thinking about studying in France or immigrate in a French speaking country:
- It assesses comprehension and expression skills in French ;
- It gives a quantitative and qualitative measure of the level of candidate's linguistic and communication skills ;
- It offers a detailed and personalized analysis of results.
No prior diploma is required for the TEF. However, we can organize preparation courses to obtain better results.

The Ministry of Immigration and the Cultural Communities of Québec requires the TEFaQ, which is an adaptation of the TEF, for a visa application to Quebec. For this test, candidates are tested on their oral understanding and expression only. A certificate of results is issued and valid for one year in case of visa application.
No prior diploma is required for the TEF. However, we recommend to take a preparation course to obtain better results at the exam.

TEF for the naturalization
TEF for the naturalization is a French test of The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the area Paris Ile-de-France which can be used in case of applying for a naturalization to the French authorities. The requirement for the exam is B1 as minimum level.
It has as objective to measure the level of the knowledge and the French skills in oral comprehension and oral expression.
TEF for the naturalization consists of two indissoluble sections (total duration: 55 minutes).
No prior diploma is required for the TEF. However, we recommend to take one of our general French courses to prepare for the exam.
Two inseparable tests Fees
The Canadian TEF concerns persons who are going to emigrate to Federal Canada or Quebec, in order to access the Canadian citizenship.
The Canadian TEF will give a valid certificate over two years to the candidate.
No prior diploma is requested. However, we recommend to take one of our general French courses to prepare the exam.
